its a capsule
its a hotel
its a capsulehotel
the capsulehotel project
as a garbage architect i do research into re-use, being also lazy helps a lot, this makes you think harder, how to use as less energy as possible to create your dream
the first plan was to travel over europa 's waters by boat looking for local waste to turn into re-usable objects of desire, building and leaving them onsite to amaze the locals.
for this project i needed an enclosed boat which could function as house and laboratorium, so why make a roof if you can find a boat with a roof.
being fascinated with 'real' industrial stuff, i soon located the survival capsules which i the could afford...
the capsules are the base of the project , where i can give guests/visitors a direct experience of looking through my eyes at the world
re-used now as a hotel and being a part of the bigger project, to create a floating community from neglected and waste materials, the capsulehotel lingers on
the goal is to combine three problems in one solution, water, waste and housing
make a floating island from waste, use neglected industrial scale objects to live in and use water to live on, in the netherlands land is a valuable and scarse commodity
at the moment i am working on 4 capsules and a bigger reception pod, which will also function as floating refunc-unit for my future garbage travels.
